In heaven, worship is always surrounding the throne of God. True worship will require a commitment of time. Time spent with just you seeking after God. Could you spend an entire day or night diligently seeking God? Worship is more than just singing a song it becomes a life style. All that you do and all that you say is to glorify God. Get before God and declare that he is the Lord of your life, and that you are nothing without him. When you find yourself face to face with God, in this place of glory, you will realize that to be in the presence of God is a wonderful place to be. All of the cares of this life become unimportant and disappear in the beauty of our Lord. The only thing that matters is expressing love to the Lord. Commit to find this place of deep intimacy with God, hunger and thirst for it. Tell Him that you want to find this place of true worship. Remember this deep intimacy with the Lord will require a sacrifice of time and total surrender to Him.

Sin & Death: Sin for God's Glory?

"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" (Romans 6:1-2)

We join this letter immediately after the writer — Paul — has made an earth-shattering statement: "Where sin increased, grace increased all the more." Astounding! God's grace is so enormous, so elastic, that it wraps all the way around our sin like an unbreakable balloon. The more we sin, the bigger God's grace gets to cover our sin (through faith in Jesus' death in our place on the cross).

You can never, ever sin so much God's grace isn't big enough to cover your sin. What a great God! The more we sin, the more impressive His forgiveness looks. So let's make Him look really impressive by collecting sins like they were Facebook friends, right?

Paul answers that. Depending on your translation, he says: "No!" "By no means!" "God forbid." "May it never be!" "Certainly not!" Why? Because God's impressive grace doesn't stop at covering your giant pile of sin; it also flipped off the shock collar that kept you from breaking free of sin in the first place. (More on that idea tomorrow.)

Think: Is it a weird idea that God's grace is limitless -- that we can never out-sin His ability to forgive? Or is it so normal an idea that we take it for granted?

Pray: Thank God for His impossibly impressive grace and forgiveness for your sin (if you've trusted in Jesus' death in your place on the cross).

Do: To get a clearer picture, read Romans 5.

Kilts are not native to Scotland. (Matthew 6:34)

Jesus' final word in this passage on the issue of money and worry and worrying about money is refreshingly realistic. He has been telling us, "Don't worry; your Father cares for you." But He has NOT been saying, "Since your Father cares about you, you'll never have a day of trouble in your life."

In today's verse, He practically promises that you and I will have trouble "tomorrow." Trouble comes built in to every day on this side of heaven. It's a fact of life in a fallen world. People who make a goal of not having any trouble will spend their lives feeling sad, angry, frustrated — and worried.

Instead, Jesus says, "Trust your Father to take care of you today and leave tomorrow to itself." Does that mean we don't make plans or preparations for tomorrow or next month or next year? Of course we do. But Jesus tells us not to invest the emotional energy in worrying about how those plans and preparations will turn out. Always worrying about the next day leads to a life of endless worry. Focusing on today — and how God provides in it — leads to a life of endless gratitude.

Think: Are you surprised Jesus would admit that trouble comes built into this life? The idea of suffering "the wrath of God" should terrify us. Better to be ignored by God than to become the focal point of His perfectly reasonable anger. Paul shows how human culture falls, step by step, into chaos and destruction.

It all starts with the one powerful lie: There is no God. Or better: The God of the Bible is not really God. If there is a God, He is different -- less powerful, less good, less holy, less interested in us, not so serious about sin. We eliminate God by changing what we mean by the name "God."

To believe that lie is a choice -- and a stupid one. Why? Because God is not hiding, Paul writes. He made Himself plain to everyone. He's available for examination. To disbelieve Him requires a strategy to hide from Truth.

Think: Do you think God's anger against sinful humans is justified? Maybe you have, too. Propelled by insecurity -- afraid the smart people around me wouldn't know I was smart, too -- I've brought up topics in conversation just so I could show off how much I knew about them.

I've even spewed every last fact in my head about things I didn't really know that much about -- sometimes making up details and delivering them with fake confidence. I was foolish.

Sometimes fools, looking to feel significant or just unable to stop the words from spilling out, even reveal information that could expose them or others to genuine danger. (Think passwords, troop movements, a good friend's secrets.)

A wise person asks: "Who am I helping besides myself by what I'm about to say?" If the answer is, "Nobody," the wise person leaves that bit of knowledge left unsaid. If I only speak to serve myself, I'll just make it obvious more quickly what a fool I really am.

Do: Be honest with yourself: How often do you blurt knowledge just to build yourself up in the eyes of others? 'Men of Galilee,' they said, 'why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.' " (Acts 1:10-11)

You almost feel bad for the disciples. They're always playing catch-up to whatever Jesus is talking about or doing, right up to the very end. He tells them not to leave Jerusalem. He says the Holy Spirit will come on them and give them power. He says they will be His witnesses everywhere.

Then He flies up into a cloud! Then some angels show up and say, "Why are you looking at that cloud?" Because Jesus just disappeared into it, that's why!

But Jesus knew they needed more answers: So He sent these two angels to fill in the gaps. To let them know He was gone to heaven. And to let them know He's coming back in the same way someday. To let them know the story isn't over, yet.

What now? Use the power of the Holy Spirit to be Jesus' witness in this world. And keep watching the sky, getting prepared, waiting for Him to come back and make everything right once and for all.

Think: Do you have an expectation that Jesus could come back "in the same way" at any moment? SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART

Self-Control Week: Letting It Go

"He who covers over an offense promotes love, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends." (Proverbs 17:9)

How powerful is the period on the end of this sentence? "I forgive you." Your answer to that question will have buckets-full to do with the quality of your relationships for the rest of your life.

Someone did wrong to you and it lead to a fight. You both agree they were wrong. They say "sorry." You say, "It's okay; I forgive you." And it's done forever, right? Well, not always. It takes a lot of self-control to let it stay finished, especially when the next fight comes around.

Today's passage says love grows out of our ability to "cover over" an offense by letting it stay finished, by practicing powerful forgiveness, by keeping the vault closed.

Friendships can break when the period at the end of "I forgive you." doesn't do its job.

Think: Why do you think even good friends sometimes have trouble not bringing up past hurts and sins again and again? Have you ever lost a friend because one or the other of you couldn't let something go?

Pray: Ask God to help you to promote love in your friendships by covering over offenses with forgiveness and mercy when it is wise to do so.

2. The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, 'Take off the grave clothes and let him go.' " (John 11:43-44)

Can you imagine being there in this moment? Even if you had followed Jesus for years and believed Him to be the Messiah and really really missed your friend or brother Lazarus -- this would be terrifying. Wouldn't it?

One of the primal fears of humanity is that the dead will come back to life. That's one reason zombie movies can be so scary. The dead are supposed to stay dead, even the ones we miss most. If you have even an ounce of imagination, you've felt a little chill in a graveyard. You have to remind yourself that death is final. Nobody comes back.

Until now.

But after that moment of horror passes -- once you realize Lazarus is no slobbering monster, just himself alive again -- the truth begins to come up over the horizon of your heart: Death is beatable. It doesn't have to win. It is not the last word. If Lazarus can come back after four days gone, all the rules are changed. We can live forever. But how?

Jesus. We need Jesus.
Think: If someone asked you to explain how a person can beat death and be resurrected, what would you tell him or her? How would you explain the good news about Jesus and living forever?

Pray: Thank God that Jesus proved He is more powerful than even death.

Do: Read about your own resurrection from the dead in 1 Corinthians 15:12-28.

2. Forgettable Fact

25% of your bones are in your feet.

3. Something For Your Heart

Why Pray Out Loud?"So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, 'Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.' " (John 11:41-42)

Why do we pray out loud? After all, it makes some of us really uncomfortable to pray in front of each other. And it makes others of us really bored to listen to each other pray. Why do it? Isn't God famous for knowing our thoughts, and aren't we famous for believing that He hears our thoughts?

I think Jesus reveals one of the benefits of praying out loud in front of each other in today's verses. He says clearly that His vocalized prayer of thanks was for the benefit of those listening. He wanted to leave no room for doubt that the giant miracle they were about to witness came from the God of the universe -- that He was God's Son.

In a similar way, when I ask God for help with something right out loud in front of you, you're much more likely to give God the credit when that good thing happens. Vocalizing our prayers and thanksgiving in front of each other is another way to remind each other how huge and powerful our God really is.

Think: Are you hesitant to pray in front of other people? Do you know why? What can you do to start to overcome that timidity?

Pray: Thank God that He doesn't need you to pray out loud in order to hear your prayers, and ask Him to help you to become comfortable talking to Him in front of others sometimes for their benefit and His glory.

Do: Make a point to pray out loud with at least one other person this week. 'I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into this world.'" (John 11:25-27)

Jesus tried to tell Martha what was about to happen, but she thought He was just consoling her. He said, "Your brother will rise again." She said,"Yes, I know, at the end when the big resurrection happens."

Jesus didn't correct her right away. He made sure she was (and we are) making the connection between faith in Jesus and eternal life. He is "the life." If we want to live -- even after we die -- He is "the resurrection." He's the only door to the life on the other side of life. Martha understood He was the Christ, the Messiah, and soon she would know He had power over any grave.

Jesus asked Martha the question everyone must answer: "Do you believe this?" Belief in Jesus is the key to the door or eternity.

Think: When did you answer the question of belief in Jesus once and for all? SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART Forgive as Forgiven_
"Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3:13
Do you think of yourself as a forgiven person? I'm not asking if you believe God has forgiven all of your sins. I know you believe that if you're a Christian. I mean, do you tend to think of yourself as someone who has been forgiven for great and terrible sin? I'm asking because those of us who became Christians as kids -- and never got around to rebelling in any obvious, public way by trying out some of the "big sins" -- we can have a hard time really thinking of ourselves as sinners. What have we done that's so wrong, after all? That thinking is a problem. Every sin is an offense against the character of our Father, reason enough for us to go to hell, and for Jesus to die on the cross. Our pride is no better than sexual immorality, fits of rage, or public drunkenness.
Here's the other problem: If you don't think of yourself as a forgiven person, it's much harder to forgive others. And when you do, you think of it as a big favor instead of seeing it as the least and most obvious thing you could do as someone who has been forgiven for a stinking, seething mountain of ugly sin.
Think: On a scale from 1 to 10, how often are you aware that God has forgiven you for great sins you were helpless to pay for yourself? How hard is it for you to forgive others? Do you see a connection between those two things?
Pray: Ask God to help you to bear with others and forgive everyone just as God has forgiven you.
Do: Read Matthew 18:21-35 to hear a story Jesus told about a guy who refused to forgive a small debt after he'd been forgiven for a big one.

2. The youth blog will be updated every Monday or Tuesday. I hope everyone is going well. I have some interesting newsletter articles that will be published here on a weekly basis. I look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow night. We will be wrapping up Make Your One Turn Count. See you soon!!!

1. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART
The Big Ones
"You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor." (Exodus 20:13-16)
Can you believe that's four whole verses up there? Commandments numbers six through nine are so simple and straightforward. And they're probably the easiest to keep, right? I mean, you don't usually just have a bad day and kill someone. Or sleep with someone's spouse. Or steal a car. Or lie in court about your neighbor.
Nope. Those are the biggies, the ones that most good Israelites could put on their list of "bad things I've never done."
Then Jesus showed up and took an eraser to their lists. He said those biggies start as real sin in the secret places of the heart. To tune your mind to lust, He said, is heart adultery. To hate a person, John wrote, is to be a murderer. We've all learned how to steal a digital thing or two from the anonymous privacy of our computers. And lying in court is only a public version of lying to our parents.
None of us is really innocent, even of all the biggies. Part of the point of the Law was to convince us all that we can't keep that Law, that we are not good enough on our own for God. We needed Jesus to keep them all for us. And we thank God He did, then died to pay for all the ones we broke.
Think: Do you have a list of sins you are proud not to have committed? Is there any real honor in having broken some of God's Law and not other parts of it?
Pray: Ask God to help you not to kill, hate, lust, commit adultery, steal (anything ever), or lie (for any reason). Thank Him that Jesus died for all your sins and that you've been forgiven for them through faith and by His grace.
Do: Read Galatians 3 to hear what Paul has to say about the difference between living by faith in Christ and living under the Law of Moses.

2. The ending was that along of the sixth sense... So the question remains who are these people and what do they want. It was also ironic that he is working for Ben. It just shows that life can change even if you never see it coming.

Religious View:

So I noticed Locke is changing. He has started to follow something that he does not understand. I think that as people we do that. In a world that makes no sense we all are looking for what to follow. My warning is be careful what you follow. I have followed many different things and for

me, only one has been true. God never hides and is always there for us. Don't get me wrong there have been time I thought I was abandoned by Him but every time it was me turning my back to Him. If you find yourself there stop and spend time with Him try prayer or reading scripture. That is the one true way to find your path. Remember we are all LOST till we know the grace and love of Christ....

In The Know!

Here is some info. on what is going up over the next view weeks. That was a great episode I have watched it twice more and I am still thinking about it. This show had many ?'s. We start to see many changes in the overall theme of the show. People are having to make decisions that will mold their life from here on out. I am a little worried about Locke as one of my favorite characters I think he is loosing it. I do understand where he is coming from wanting to stay but something just seems a little off. Is he really talking with Walt or is it Jacob or what? Anyway I can't wait to see how his and Sawyer's relationship works out.

Religious View:

O.k. I guess the biggest thing I saw is that you can not always believe what you see. People came claiming to want to help when all they really wanted was "well we don't really know yet". You must becarful who you put your salvation in there are alot of people, bussiness, music, and media claiming they care about you. The truth is God is the true savior and we know that by His sacrifice through Jesus Christ. So as Easter comes remember we are all "LOST " till we know the love and Grace of Jesus Christ...

Peru

First Peru Meeting March 2nd at 12:00pm in FLC
Peru dates June 5th - 12th.
Are You Being Called???

"LOST" WEEK 1

So the day finally arrived when rescue arrives.... I believe that the 4th season is going to be a mind twisting, thought grappling, gut wrenching year. I am barley able to write as the possibilities of what happens goes round in my head. Charlie dead but yet still here, Hurley regretting going with Locke, Kate staying with Jack instead of Sawyer, not to mention "NOT PENNY'S BOAT".

For my Religious thought of the show Hurley made a profound statement when he revealed that by all his money being gone he would finally be free. It is funny that what we think will make us complete besides a relationship with Christ always traps us. When he told Bernard it made no sense to him much like living a life for Christ makes no sense to those who don't believe... So if at times your decisions based by faith make others question that is not always a bad thing.

Check in next week to read what happens and to getting closer to finding out who and what the newcomers are up to.... Schools are crazy, home is crazy, and life is crazy. I am so ready for the youth of Paulding County to step up to the plate and claim the name Christian.
Let's also be truthful that Dallas First United Methodist is going thru a change, well, at least the youth group is. We graduated 20 something seniors last year that I am sure are going to impact the world in mighty ways. But, Paulding high and middle schools are still in need. That is where you come in. Below is a list of things that we will be undertaking. I am trying to offer things that will impact as well as interest. I hope that you will pray and consider making time and becoming a part of something bigger than ourselves. We are all part of the body of Christ and together we can accomplish amazing things.
I know that some of you are just trying to figure out if this thing is real. Great!!! The best way to get to know God is by searching and questioning. However, if you just wonder and never act, you will never truly know. If you know the real thing, I'm sure if you think for a second you have a friend who needs to know that there is more to this world than what we see in movies and on T.V... So, the question is are you ready to take a chance to change yourself, your school and the world!!!
